We've been here many times before, and it's still a great vacation. It does look like overall tourism is down at SMP (like everywhere else I guess) but the campground is good and the park is great. We stayed in the premium sites ("Trail F") around the pool and office, and the wooden deck eating area with the stainless steel gas grill was GREAT! Don't be surprised if some of the amenities of the park you like are reduced: the shuttles or water taxi services don't run quite as often, but the park is still great and the lasershow is spectacular again this year!!! GREAT place for kids, no "rides" but many physical challenges like ropes courses, rock climbing walls, and play areas. Really gets them moving, and they loved it...

This is a quiet, convenient place to stay, especially if you don't pull a toad! It is within pretty easy walking distance to the downtown area and Branson Landing. One pleasant surprise was the little trolley service they have now. We walked from the camp about 100 yards to the Branson Landing parking lot (south),caught the parking lot trolley to the Bass Pro Shops, and then transferred to the downtown trolley. The trolleys don't go all the way out on "the strip" but it's still a great way to get around the Landing and downtown. The campground is clean (maintained by the city crews) and the staff is very friendly, and CHEAP at $23. We stayed 4 nights for less than $100 total cost! We will definitely stay here again... with or without a toad.

Not at all worth considering. The place has a nice pool, but they let in locals (for $) so it's always crowded with loud trailer trash moms and wild kids. Meanwhile the "petting zoo" is a cruel little crowded pen, pitiful. Owner is scary-looking biker dude who doesn't care. And worst of all, although it's not directly their fault -sometimes that's just camping- we got a SEVERE infestation of ants (like a bad horror movie!). The girl at the desk just laughed, saying, "Wll, that's just Georgia." (Funny we were at the Stone Mountain GA campground for a week right before this, and had absolutely no problems there!) Guess we should have listened to the guy who is staying at Calhoun KOA long term who was out that evening spraying for ants. Avoid this place like the plague!

WOW! This place is the cats. In a stunningly beautiful area (north GA and western NC mountains, and as well kept a campground as I've ever seen. And in all our travels I've never seen a campground with an INDOOR POOL! It's heated and jets make it like a HUGE hot tub. I can't wait to come back in the winter (this place is open year round). The very clean outdoor pool also has a small hot tub connected, great! Sites are nice and level, good cable TV, great wireless internet with 3 separate networks to choose from so you will always get a strong signal. Don't tell too many people- we want to keep this one quiet and always available for us to use!

This is one of our favs; well run, clean, and the "perks" are great. We stay here and use the free "water taxi" or Marriott shuttle bus over to the park, no toad needed! The pool is cool and clean. There is a nice little store and planned activities for kids, too. They let us pitch a kids tent next to the MH at no extra charge- up to 6 persons per site. Some of the spots are not level so just bring some extra levelers or boards. Even the worst are not sloped too bad - and the ones that are have a great view of the lake. The premium spaces around the pool (Row F) are the best (wood patios!) but go fast so make a reservation.

We visited here again in June, 2nd trip, we also went last year for the weekend. This is the place to stay to ride quads, dirt-bikes, or jeeps. The trails are fantastic, it's like 70,000 acres of property with hundreds of miles of trails. We stayed at Windrock Campground for 3 days and had a fantastic time. The people there were great, Gene and Missy are the best! I'm a light sleeper, but we didn't get woke up a single time there. This place is not a KOA, but the place is very very clean, they have a great bathhouse with hot showers, and the kids loved the campfires - we had smores every night. I will definetly stay here again. Next time we're staying a week!!!

We looked for a place to stay while visiting friends nearby and stumbled onto this little campground - it was easy to find off of I-40 near Cookeville (about midway between Nashville and Knoxville). The gravel driveway was excellent, very wide with easy turns and plenty of space to back up into the site we stayed in. The GREAT surprise was the attached restaurant which (OF COURSE) specializes in catfish caught fresh from the lakes on the property. Very reasonable prices, even for all you can eat which is every day after 4:30pm (restaurant is closed on Wednesdays). Good place for kids too cause they allow fishing (pay lake); you can even catch your own catfish and they will serve it to you in the restaurant. Really sweet serving girls in the restaurant too, great service.

Like other comments, we have twice stopped in here for the night while traveling to/from Florida. Great overnight stay place with easy after-hours check-in. Good Sam discounts too, although they prefer cash payment with that. We had no trouble with cable TV wires, it worked great. It was extremely quiet here, but then again we stayed here in Dec. Will stay here often when passing thru - easy easy access.

This is a government park, hence the low rates. But is is very nice, shaded, and clean. We came in after dark, and the night check-in process was a breeze. Our site was level and in the trees. Kind of in the backcountry but good signs and roads to get there. Good choice if you're going to Shiloh National Battlefield - not many campgrounds in this area.

We just happened to see this place as we were visiting Shiloh National Battlefield (which is a beautiful place btw). The RV park appears to be abandoned, even though hookups were visible, they looked ancient. There was not anyone camped here except a very old camper with a beatup Camaro parked out front - no tow vehicle. Guess he lives there. We moved on to Pickwick Dam campground (12 miles) which was wonderful. If you see the sign for Battlefield Campground - don't bother.

I have camped in a motorhome for 14 years, and stayed at literally scores of campgrounds. This is ONE OF THE BEST! The "sparkling" bathrooms were exactly that (even cleaner than my mother in law's - and she is way beyond picky). I truly have never seen anything like it - not only in any campground, but in any "public" place restroom. congratulations to the owners for running a 1st class operation. Highly recommended. (OH- and the campground's own shuttle bus to the Passion Play was GREAT! It saved us cause we don't use a toad)

I thought this was a beautiful place, very peaceful. It is an oasis. We stayed there with two kids, and they had a ball. Very clean grounds, and the pool was wonderful.

Great back country park for people (like us) who ride dirt bikes and four-wheelers on Windrock Mountain, East Tennessee. We really like it cause we can ride straight up to the trails w/o having to load the bikes on a trailer. The people there are real nice, but even so they strictly enforce the quiet hours, and won't tolerate rowdy behavior - which we're thankful for. Nice hot showers and they allow campfires too, great after a long day of riding. This is a great place to stay with kids who ride.
